What is different about the budget package?

The sites, guiding and itinerary are the same as our premium packages. What changes is the cruise ship category, hotel standard in Cairo, and the use of shared group transfers rather than private vehicles.

Do I see fewer sites on the budget package?

No. This itinerary covers the same monuments as our more expensive packages, including Giza, the Valley of the Kings, Karnak, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae.

What is a standard 5 star Nile cruise ship like?

Standard category ships have comfortable cabins with private bathrooms, a restaurant, sun deck and pool. They are less spacious and less elaborately finished than luxury vessels, but perfectly comfortable.

How can I reduce the cost further?

Travelling in the low season between May and September brings prices down significantly, though temperatures in Upper Egypt are very high during those months.

Full board is included on the Nile cruise. In Cairo, breakfast is included at the hotel with other meals at your own expense.

Is the guide the same quality as premium packages?

Yes. All our packages use qualified Egyptologist guides. The difference between categories is in accommodation and transport, not guiding.

The temples, tombs and guiding are identical; what changes is the level of onboard luxury and the size of the touring group. It is a good fit for younger travellers, longer trips through the region, or anyone who would rather spend their budget on seeing more of Egypt than on a larger cabin.
