Historia – Cabins & Onboard Facilities
Cabins & Suites
Historia is a 72 metre boutique-hotel style Nile cruiser from The And Group Nile Cruises, carrying 88 guests across five passenger decks. There are 32 cabins and 12 suites, so roughly a quarter of the accommodation on board is suite level, which is a higher proportion than most full-size ships on the river offer.
Accommodation runs across five named categories plus an accessible room: the Luxury Cabin, the Luxury Cabin Twin, the Historia Suite, the Presidential Suites, which are themed around figures from Egyptian culture, the Royal Suites, and the Accessible Historia Suite. The operator does not publish floor areas for any category, so ask us for the deck plan and the actual dimensions before choosing between them.
Every room is fully air conditioned with a digital alarm, luxury toiletries made with natural ingredients, 100% Egyptian cotton linens, towels and bathrobes, an espresso machine and a tea and coffee station replenished daily, complimentary mineral water and complimentary Wi-Fi. Luggage is labelled and delivered to the cabin on arrival.
Crew and Service
The detail most worth knowing about Historia is the staffing. The ship carries 90 crew for 88 guests, which is more crew than passengers, and a ratio you will not find on a conventional Nile cruiser of this size. It is the practical reason the boat is positioned as a boutique hotel rather than a river ship, and it is the thing that most changes how the week actually feels.
Onboard Facilities
The Solaria sun deck carries the swimming pool. Below that are the Seneb Spa, which runs tailored treatments, and the Historia Gym. Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout. Smoking is permitted on the sun deck only. There is no ATM or currency exchange on board, though Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
Accessibility
Historia has an elevator between decks, wheelchairs available on board, and a dedicated Accessible Historia Suite. Lifts are uncommon on the Nile and a purpose-built accessible suite is rarer still, so this is one of the few ships we list that is worth considering if stairs are a real constraint for anyone travelling. The operator asks that any special requirements are flagged in advance, and since the accessible suite is a single room it books early.
Dining & Evenings
Dining and lounging are spread across several named spaces rather than one restaurant: the Noria Restaurant, the Aura Lounge, the Lobby Lounge and the Solaria on the sun deck. The operator does not publish a meal plan or a set menu structure, so confirm what your fare covers at quote stage rather than assuming full board. Evenings run themed programmes drawn from Egyptian culture, music and tradition.
Sailings
Historia sails the classic stretch between Luxor and Aswan, in three, four or seven night voyages. Check-in opens at noon and checkout is at 08:00 on the morning of departure; early arrival or late departure may carry a charge and depends on availability. The operator does not publish departure days or a fixed stop list for each itinerary, so we confirm the sailing calendar with them for your dates.
Note that Historia has a sister vessel on the river, Historia Beyond Spa and Suites, and a dahabeya, Storia, from the same operator. If you are comparing them, they are genuinely different boats rather than variants of one, so tell us which you were quoted.
