After dark, a motorboat takes you across to Agilkia Island. You walk through the lit-up courts of the Temple of Isis, then take a seat for the narrated show telling the story of Isis and Osiris and of the temple’s rescue from the rising Nile.

It can be breezy on the water in winter, so bring a layer. If you saw Philae by day, the night show feels completely different.
