Tanoura Dance Show and Al-Muizz Street Evening in Cairo – Tour Details
What Tanoura is
Tanoura is an Egyptian folk dance rooted in Sufi whirling. Dancers in layered, brightly coloured skirts spin for long stretches to live drums and flutes. Performances are held in restored historic buildings in the old city.
The evening
We start with a walk along Al-Muizz Street when the Mamluk facades are lit, then take seats for the show. Afterwards there is time for tea or dinner near Khan el Khalili.
Good to know
Shows run on set evenings each week and the schedule changes, so we confirm the date when we send your quote. Seating is first come, first served, so we arrive early.
