Storia the Dahabeya – Cabins & Onboard Facilities
Cabins & Suites
Storia is a 55 metre dahabeya operated by The And Group Nile Cruises, carrying a maximum of 18 guests across three passenger decks. There are 6 cabins and 2 suites, in four categories: the Luxury Cabin Twin, the Luxury Cabin, the Polaris Suite with panoramic Nile views, and the Moonlight Suite.
Every room is air conditioned with a digital safe and alarm, and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and an overhead rain shower. Beds are dressed in 100% Egyptian cotton, with bathrobes and natural-ingredient toiletries. Each cabin also has an espresso machine and a tea and coffee station replenished daily, automated lighting and curtains, a smart LED TV with satellite channels and mobile casting, complimentary Wi-Fi and mineral water.
Onboard Facilities
Storia carries a plunge pool and sun deck, a spa, and a gym with Nile views. That combination is genuinely unusual on a dahabeya: boats in this class are normally small sailing vessels with an open deck and little else, so a spa and a fitness room on an 18-guest boat is worth noting rather than glossing over. Smoking is permitted on the sun deck only.
The crew numbers 25 for a maximum of 18 guests, which is a higher ratio than most river vessels of any size run, and it is the practical reason the service on a boat this small feels closer to a small hotel than a charter.
Accessibility
Storia has wheelchair access, an elevator between decks, and one Luxury Cabin fitted out as an accessible room. Very few dahabeyas offer any of this, and almost none offer a lift, so if mobility is a factor for anyone in your party this is one of the few boats in the category worth asking about. Confirm the specifics with us before booking, since the accessible cabin is a single room and books early.
Dining & Evenings
There are four places to eat and drink rather than one dining room. The Dining Room serves seasonal dishes with Nile views; the Salon and Salon Bar handle cocktails, light bites and aperitifs; the Terrace is poolside; and the Veranda on the upper deck runs mixology and starlit barbecues. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free menus can be arranged on request, and low-sodium or allergy requirements should be declared at the time of booking rather than on arrival.
Evenings are programmed rather than left open: cooking classes, Egyptology sessions, and Nubian, Pharaonic and Arabian themed nights across the sailing.
Sailings
Two itineraries run between Luxor and Aswan. The five-night sailing goes south from Luxor to Aswan, departing Sundays. The two-night sailing goes north from Aswan to Luxor, departing Fridays. Check-in opens at noon and checkout is at 08:00 on the morning of departure. Whole-boat charters are available and can include tailored monument tours, subject to availability.
At 55 metres with a 110 centimetre draft, Storia moors where deeper vessels cannot, which is the standing argument for the dahabeya format over a full-size cruise ship.
